What is it?
The Medex search reviews and reports on individuals in healthcare industries. The search pulls data from over a thousand sources and searches for medical exclusions, federal and state sanctions, and board actions for several provider types. We have different levels of the search available:
- Medex Plus: Reports on Office of Inspector (OIG) and System for Award Management (SAM) exclusions. The SAM consolidates all exclusion records in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR)/Federal Agency Registration (FedReg), Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), and the Excluded Parties List System (EPLS).
- Medex Pro: Reports on OIG, SAM, and state-specific medicaid exclusions.
- Medex Complete: Reports on OIG, SAM, state-specific medicaid exclusions, and state medical board actions. (Comparable to the FACIS Level 3)
*We also have a FACIS Level 3 option for clients that require this name on the report.
How does it work?
Possible hits are pulled from a database search, and the Verified First team will sort through them and determine if any of them belong to the applicant. In the event that a hit belonging to your applicant is found, the appropriate search will be added to the report for you to view. Common searches added from this database search are the Office of Inspector General, and System for Award Management. If a medical board action is found for your applicant, it will be reported directly in the medex search.
Please note that we will often need your applicant’s medical license number to confirm medical board actions. Having this information readily available to provide to the Verified First team will help accelerate the search being completed.
