Verified First offers a fully integrated API solution for clients using the Bullhorn ATS, in addition to the standard browser extension integration. Mutual clients of Bullhorn and Verified First can benefit from a full API implementation if they are looking for a solution that allows for complete functionality of the Verified First Portal from within the Bullhorn ATS. This integration also provides a method for viewing background screening results and associated information within Bullhorn.
Requesting the Bullhorn - Verified First Integration
Mutual clients can request the Verified First API integration with Bullhorn by contacting Bullhorn Support and requesting the integration. Bullhorn Support will then coordinate with Verified First to begin the integration configuration process. The Verified First Integrations Team will work with both the client and Bullhorn Support during this process.
Authentication
The security of client accounts and associated background screening information is of the utmost importance. In order to accomplish secure communications between the Verified First and Bullhorn systems, Bullhorn Support will provide Verified First with a unique API username and password for the client. This ensures the safety of client accounts and data in both systems.
Custom Field Configuration and Implementation
Verified First can return information for orders to the Bullhorn ATS (this information does not contain Personally Identifiable Information [PII]). In order to display this information in the Bullhorn user interface, custom fields that will house this data must be configured in Bullhorn. Bullhorn Support can work directly with the client to create custom fields and to determine what information the client will want in Bullhorn. The options for information fields include:
- order_number - Order number created by Verified First
- flagged - Indicates if the order is flagged (Yes/No)
- package_name - Package name used for the order
- products_ordered - The list of products contained in the selected package
- reference_code - Reference code associated with the order, if applicable
- status - The latest status of the order
- adjudication - Adjudication status of the order (this field will only have values populated if "status" is "Complete")
- url - Link to view order
- order_completed_date - Date that the order was completed (will be filled when "status" is "Complete")
- last_status_date - Date of the most recent status
The fields can then customize the client's Bullhorn environment. Below are some sample customizations:
- Custom Overview card
- Candidate List
Ordering
The Verified First integration leverages custom tabs, loading the Verified First Portal from within Bullhorn, which pre-fills applicant information on the "Ordering" screen. The Bullhorn Support team can work with each client to create a custom tab that is available on candidate profiles. This provides clients with the full functionality of the Verified First Portal within Bullhorn. In order to access the Verified First Portal, clients need only click on the custom tab and log in with their Verified First credentials (every user will be required to do this initially). Verified First recommends using the custom integration tab to access the portal to initiate Instant and Email Invitation Orders.
The Verified First and Bullhorn integration also allows for clients to initiate batch orders from the "Candidate List" page in Bullhorn. This functionality also requires a custom modification, which Bullhorn Support can assist with, in the form of a new menu item that becomes available when two or more candidates are selected from the candidate list.
