What is the NYOCA?
- New York Office of Court Administration (OCA):
- This is the administrative arm of the New York State Unified Court System.
- It's responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the courts throughout New York State.
- They handle various functions, including court operations, administrative services, and providing public access to court information
How does the NYOCA impact you and background checks?
- The majority of counties in NY are required to report to the NYOCA and records can’t be found at the county level.
- Due to this, if you order a County Criminal Records search and a New York County is requested, whether it’s due to being the current residence, identified on our Unlimited Product, or simply just requested, we will convert any/all of these counties to a single State Search, NYOCA
- NYOCA has an access fee that will be added to your invoice as a pass through fee. See list of pass-through fees here.
- Since a State Search was processed, you will not see the selected counties on your invoice, but a single NY State Criminal charge
