Process & Outreach
To maximize response rates, our team executes a multi-channel outreach strategy:
- Outreach Methods: We contact references via phone, email, and text (where contact information is provided).
- Attempt Schedule: Our team follows a five-business-day outreach window, making consistent attempts to reach each reference before the file is closed.
- Secondary Research: If contact is not established, we will reach out to the client or applicant for updated contact details to ensure every opportunity for a response.
Customization
While our standard interview includes questions pertaining to professional character and performance, these questions are fully customizable to align with your organization’s specific requirements.
- In what capacity did you work with him/her? Where and for how long?
- What was the applicant's job and the nature of his/her duties?
- When he/she begins a task, would you say that he/she carries it through to completion?
- What would you say is his/her greatest strength?
- What could he/she do to improve their job performance?
- How did he/she show initiative or leadership in his/her job?
- Is he/she dependable?
- How did he/she get along with his/her Associates?
- In your opinion, has he/she ever shown a propensity for violence or dishonesty in the workplace?
- In your opinion, if you were responsible for the hiring process, would you consider him/her eligible for rehire?
How to Improve Efficiency
To help Verified First complete these checks as quickly as possible, we recommend:
- Accurate Data: Ensure the candidate provides up-to-date and valid email addresses and phone numbers for all references.
- Applicant Notification: Encourage applicants to notify their references in advance that Verified First will be reaching out. This significantly increases the likelihood of a first-call response.
