Verifications agents will interview your candidate's professional references about the length and nature of their relationship with the candidate. This verification can provide you with information related to your candidate's work ethic, strengths and abilities. Additionally, this verification helps you potentially confirm that a candidate has been honest in their job application and interview responses.
The interview includes questions that pertain to your candidate's character, but we can customize the questions as you see fit.
Our Verifications Team contacts references via phone, email, and fax if the information is provided. When our team contacts references, they will make six attempts to reach each reference before closing the file.
If the team is unable to make contact within the first two days, and are unable to find additional valid contact information through online research, we will reach out to our client and/or applicant (with client's approval) for additional contact information.
Standard Personal Reference Questions (can be customized):
- How do you know him/her?
- How long have you known him/her?
- Is he/she a dependable and punctual person?
- Describe his/her interpersonal skills (ability to get along with others/communicate).
- What would you say are his/her weaknesses?
- What would you say are his/her top strengths?
- Does he/she have any special skills, abilities, or training?
- Do you know anything about his/her work habits or history?
- What can you tell me about him/her in terms of character?
Authorization Forms Needed for Personal Reference Verifications
Please note that signed Authorization Forms are requested to be provided before many institutions will provide verification. If these forms are not uploaded to the file we will have to reach out for them before the verification process can be completed.
- If these forms are not provided within 4 business days the verification will be completed and flagged as “Authorization Not Provided” as we will not be able to proceed with the verification without it.
- If they are provided within 30 days of the original verification request we will reopen and proceed with verification.
