Instead of relying solely on manual outreach to employers, MeasureOne allows applicants to securely share their employment data directly through their payroll provider’s system and other secure upload methods.
Verified First utilizes MeasureOne technology to expedite the verification process, providing a seamless experience even when an applicant prefers their current employer not be contacted directly.
How Does MeasureOne Work?
A payroll provider (such as ADP, Workday, or Paychex) is the system an employer uses to maintain employment records. MeasureOne acts as a secure digital bridge, allowing the applicant to log in and share their data directly with Verified First.
Key Use Cases
Verified First utilizes the MeasureOne solution in several specific scenarios:
- "Do Not Contact" Requests: When an applicant requests that we do not contact their current employer, the MeasureOne scan verifies dates of employment without alerting the employer.
- Closed Businesses: If a previous employer has ceased operations, MeasureOne can often still access historical records via the payroll provider.
- Cost-Efficiency: To mitigate high third-party database fees (such as The Work Number), the MeasureOne solution offers a streamlined, cost-effective alternative.
- Unresponsive Sources: If a source remains unresponsive after three business days, the system may trigger a MeasureOne-powered request to the applicant to prevent further delays.
The Applicant Experience
The process is designed to be user-friendly and mobile-responsive:
- Notification: The applicant receives a request via email to verify their history.
- Selection: They choose their payroll provider from a list of common systems.
- Connection: The applicant logs into their payroll account via the secure MeasureOne portal.
- Alternative Upload Options: If they cannot find their provider, the interface allows for a secure upload of W2s or paystubs, as well as a Work Number data upload if available.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this technology compliant with data regulations? Yes. The MeasureOne solution operates under consumer-permissioned data principles. Individuals have the right to grant access to their own data to facilitate employment and financial transactions, aligning with modern data privacy standards and transparency.
How does this differ from a standard manual verification? Manual verifications often include qualitative questions (e.g., re-hire eligibility). The MeasureOne-powered platform focuses specifically on objective data points, such as dates of employment and job titles, as they are recorded within the payroll source.
How long is the MeasureOne link active? The link provided to the applicant remains active for five business days before expiring. If the MeasureOne path is not completed and a "Do Not Contact" request was in place, we will not proceed with manual outreach to that employer.
Are there additional fees? A MeasureOne-powered fee is applied only when a verification is successfully completed through the platform or via successful document uploads.
