For users who do not have the ability to view the social security number (SSN) on a candidate's file - users who do not have Unmask SSN/DOB permission - one way to be sure the social security number (SSN) on file for the applicant is correct is to use the SSN Validation Tool. This button, accessed from within the file's order details page, allows you to enter the SSN, and will provide you with immediate feedback on whether or not the SSN matches what was previously entered for that candidate.
To verify the candidate's SSN, navigate to the file you wish to validate and click on or hover over the carat next to the Order Details button and then click on the Order Details option in the drop-down:
Click the Validate SSN button:
When the "Validate SSN" modal window appears, type the SSN of the applicant and click Check SSN:
If the SSN matches what was previously entered for the candidate, you will receive this message modal:
If the SSN does not match what was previously entered for the candidate, you will be presented with this message window:
