When you receive information that your candidate has an additional name (alias) that was not previously included in the original order, you can add the name to the order via the add to order functionality (up to the maximum amount of aliases your account settings allow).
When adding an alias to an order, you have two options that can be selected:
1. Include this alias in add to order (adds an alias and a new product to the order)
2. Order original products for this order (adds the alias to the file and orders the existing products previously ordered)
You can select either one of these options - or both of these options - as is appropriate for your order.
Adding an Alias + Adding a New Product to the Order
For this example, we will walk through adding an alias and a new product to the existing order.
Similar to the "Add to Order - Direct Order" section in this article, you will hover over the Order Details button on the right-hand side of the screen and click Add to Order:
You will then click +Former Legal Name:
Which will expand a new section of fields and options to select:
Note: Adding an additional alias to a file will be counted as a separate screen and will incur a separate charge for each additional name added to the same file.
In this area you will enter the first name, middle initial, last name, and generation (if applicable) for the alias. You will then select Include this alias in add to order and scroll down to select the new product (or additional jurisdiction) you desire:
Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click Next:
On the order summary page, you will see the alias added to the top of the order details:
And you will see the alias added only to the new product we added to the order:
Adding an Alias to the Existing Products on the Order
Let's take a look at how to add an alias name to the products already ordered.
On the file view hover over the Order Details button on the right-hand side of the screen and click Add to Order:
Click +Former Legal Name, enter the alias name information for the candidate, and select the Order original products for this alias checkbox:
Then scroll down and click Next. Depending on the products previously ordered, you may need to enter additional information for the alias (such as adding another MVR #, another verification entry, etc.).
On the order summary page, you'll see the alias you added, and the product(s) to which the alias is being added:

Another option users have for adding an alias to an existing order is to check both checkboxes so that the alias is added to the existing products in addition to ordering any new products added via "add to order."
Let's take a look at how this works:
After you've clicked Add to Order, +Former Name, and entered the candidate's alias name, check include this alias in add to order as well as order original products for this alias:
Add the additional product(s) you want to order, scroll down, and click Next.
On the order summary page, you will see the alias added to the existing product(s) previously ordered as well as the new product(s) ordered for both the original name and the alias:
