State Criminal Records Searches Not Available in Certain States

Some states do not allow or offer a state-level criminal records search. Depending on if the State Criminal Records product is ordered along with other products, or not, the ordering experience can look differently.

Direct Orders with Only a State Criminal Records Search

If you place a direct order for a State Criminal Records search and select the "state search of residence" option for a state that doesn't have a state search, you will receive a notification banner at the top of the screen letting you know that you cannot continue with the direct order until you go back a step and select a different state.

Applicant Invite Orders with Only a State Criminal Records Search

If you place an applicant invite order for a State Criminal Records search and select the "state search of residence" option for a state that doesn't have a state search, the applicant will receive a notification that tells them that the state in which they reside does not support a State Criminal Records search and that they need to reach out to their HR representative:

In the event that you have more than one product ordered on the file and you attempt to do a direct order for a State Criminal Records search and select the "state search of residence" option for a state that doesn't have a state search, you will receive a notification banner at the top of the screen letting you know that you cannot continue with the direct order until you go back a step and select a different state:

Applicant Invite Orders with Searches In Addition to a State Criminal Records Search

In the event that you have more than one product ordered on the file and you send an applicant invite order with "state search of residence" option selected for a state that doesn't have a state search, the state search will be dropped from the file and the other products will be submitted without that search.

State Criminal Records Search with Additional Jurisdiction Not Supported

When you attempt to add an additional jurisdiction to a State Criminal Records search for a state that doesn't support a state search, you will notice the state is grayed out in the drop-down and you will be required to select a different additional jurisdiction for your order, or return to the ordering step and remove that product:
